No Biomembrane, No Life

Quite literally, life would not exist without biomembranes. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that biomembranes form the basis of life phenomena. To better understand biomembrane, we conduct original research primary using analytical chemistry and organic chemistry (chemical biology). Furthermore, biomembranes have been implicated in diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, and many commercial drugs act on membrane proteins and lipid membranes. Consequently, biomembranes are important research targets in the pharmaceutical field. Our research also aims to elucidate the mechanisms of drug action, advance disease diagnosis, and contribute to drug discovery.
